Estación Las Tortugas is a remote research station in the Limon Province of Costa Rica. The facility offers a rare opportunity to view sea turtle species in their natural habitat. This includes patrolling for nesting sites and assisting new hatchlings in being released into the Caribbean Sea.
Researchers actively protect and study this endangered species. Poaching, beachfront development, and ocean pollution are the primary threats. Volunteers are important to the project’s mission, and help is encouraged from all education and experience levels.
