The Macon Mayhem will celebrate a promotional “Nickelodeon Night” as they face-off against the Vermilion County Bobcats on March 26 at the Macon Coliseum.

The Mayhem will don specialty “Spongebob Squarepants” jerseys for the occasion.

The “Spongebob Squarepants” jerseys have not yet been revealed, but members of the organization are fond of the specialty jerseys that the team has already donned this season.

“The Snoopy jersey is my favorite,” Head Athletic Trainer Cynthia West said.

The Snoopy jersey was worn on Feb. 26 for “Peanuts Night” accompanied by “Pucks and Paws,” where fans were allowed to bring their dogs to the game as the Mayhem defeated the Birmingham Bulls by a final score of 4-0.

The team has sported many specialty jerseys this season, some of the other jerseys being cow themed jerseys, camouflaged hunting jerseys, the “Peanuts” jerseys and Macon music jerseys.

West was also a fan of the tie-dyed jerseys that the Mayhem wore for “Macon Music Night” when they were defeated by the Birmingham Bulls by a final score of 5-3 on Feb. 19.

“I was pretty keen on the Macon Music Night jerseys,” West said.

The specialty jerseys also seem to be very popular with fans as some of the specialty jerseys are auctioned off after each promotional game, West said.

According to the Southern Professional Hockey League standings, the Mayhem are currently in 10th place with a record of 8-34-2-3 amassing 21 points as of March 20.

The game will be the second of two meetings this season between the Mayhem and the Bobcats, the first being on March 25 in Macon.

In Case You Go: Tickets prices range from $10 to $20. Puck drop will be at 6:30 p.m. The specialty “Spongebob Squarepants” jerseys will be auctioned off after the game for fans to bid on in the lobby of the Macon Coliseum. For more information, visit www.maconmayhem.com
