42 is a 2013 film directed by Brian Helgeland. It portrays the integration of baseball player Jackie Robinson as an African American on the Brooklyn Dodgers team. Only a few scenes were shot in Macon, however, Luther Williams Field was featured very beautifully on screen all throughout the film as the iconic baseball field. Filmmakers recreated the field to make it look like Brooklyn, New York.
Black Widow
Black Widow is expected to release on May 1, 2020 and is directed by Cate Shortland. It portrays the story about the Black Widow character from the Marvel Series. This is a highly anticipated movie for all superhero lovers. There were scenes that were shot in downtown Macon around October 2019. Zombieland: Double Tap is a 2019 film directed by Ruben Fleischer. It is a sequel that came out ten years after the first one, Zombieland, was released. It is a comedy about zombie survivors and their encounters. It features the Eisenhower Parkway Bridge in Macon.
I, Tonya
I, Tonya is a 2017 film directed by Craig Gillespsie. It is based on the real life story of Tonya Harding, a figure skater, and the attack of Nancy Kerrigan. The skating scenes of this film were shot in the Macon Centreplex. Due to the limited amount of rink time, they had to shoot many scenes in just a few short days.
The Best of Enemies
The Best of Enemies is a 2019 film directed by Robin Bissell. It portrays a civil rights activist and a Ku Klux Klan leader fighting over a battle of school integration. The Macon-Bibb County’s Government Center made an appearance in the film.
