Bears’ Beat Report: Where to go for Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is coming fast. For people who are in relationships, this day could make or break your whole year. To help you plan, I made a list of seven places to go on a date in downtown Macon. You’re welcome.
First up is Decadent on Poplar Street. Described as a “fast casual dessert shop,” Decadent offers a wide variety of desserts and coffee. Adding this destination to your Valentine’s itinerary could be just the sweetness you need.
Right beside Decadent is Taste and See on Poplar Street. This coffee shop doubles as an art gallery, and is the perfect place to just sit and chill by yourself or with a date.
Another cool little spot downtown is Reboot, a bar on Cherry Street. During the afternoon, Reboot functions as an arcade, but after 6 pm, you have to be 18 and over to come in. If you’re looking for a cool way to relax and have a good time, plop down with your man and Pac-Man and play the night away.
If you’re looking for something a little spiffier, consider going to The Rookery on Cherry Street. They have a great atmosphere, as well as great burgers. And to top it all off, grab a milkshake for dessert!
Next up is Scoops, an ice cream shop on Cherry Street. With tons of flavors to choose from, and a nice light hearted atmosphere, Scoops is a great place to spend your Valentine’s Day.
For the pizza lovers among us, Doughboy is there for us on Cherry Street. I don’t know what else I have to tell you about the staple food that is pizza.
Last on the list is a Creole and Cajun restaurant on Cherry Street. Parish serves brunch, lunch, and dinner, and has a happy hour every day from 3-6 pm. If you want your Valentine’s meal to feel like a trip to Louisiana, this is the restaurant for you.
These are just a few of the places in Macon to spend Valentine’s Day. If you can think of any more, comment them on this video!
