As of Nov. 11, all four of the Bibb County schools who made the playoffs were eliminated in the first round. Here are the results for all four of their matchups.
Westside Seminoles 12, New Hampstead Phoenix 40.
The Seminoles were ousted by New Hampstead by 4 touchdowns, mostly due to New Hampstead’s Rashawn Truell who threw for 230 yards and four touchdowns while also having two on the ground. The Seminole defense just could not keep hold while their offense faced their own struggles the entire game. Despite the loss, Westside’s Jessie Bell rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown: a bright spot for the Seminoles.
ACE Charter Gryphons 7, Pierce County Bears 42.
Another tough loss for Bibb County schools is ACE Charter, who went down by a whopping 35 points to the Pierce County Bears. By halftime, the Bears were already up 28-7, leading them to blow it open even further with a score of 42-7 leading into the 4th quarter. The high powered offense of Pierce County was just too much for the Gryphons, bringing them to a heartbreaking first round exit.
Southwest Patriots 6, Toombs County 64.
Once again, Southwest tallies another rough loss for Bibb County schools of 64-6 to Toombs County. Dabvn Wadley was the star of the show for Toombs County with 175 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Chase Dupree for Southwest recorded the only touchdown, but he also threw for 205 yards. This loss drops their record to 6-5 on the year.
Northeast Raiders 0, Appling County Pirates 49.
Finally, the Northeast Raiders were completely shut out by the Pirates 49-0. From miscommunication on the Raider’s offense to the high powered rushing of Appling County’s Jamarion Williams for a few touchdowns, the game was completely lopsided in the Pirates’ favor. A fumble recovery by the Pirates’ defense capped off the first half, which truly set the tone for the rest of the game and left the Raider’s eliminated.
