Cost of COVID: The positive impact on the cycling industry
Bobby Shore, the owner of Bike Tech, shares how the cycling industry has been blown away by the rise in cycling throughout the pandemic.
“The global cycling industry sold through inventory that should have lasted through March 2021,” he says. Shore even mentions that one of Bike Tech’s bike brands has more bike orders than they will be able to produce in all of 2021.
“When everyone went on lockdown, they had to get exercise,” Shore explains, “We had a mad rush of people coming and buying bikes.” In addition to that, they have seen a rise in service requests because people are repairing their older bikes to get them back into working order.
“That is a positive impact,” Shore says, “That’s positive for Macon.”
