The Macon-Bibb County Commission, Mayor Lester Miller and representatives from his administration donned hard hats and vests Tuesday morning for a progress tour of the new amphitheater, Macon Mall courtrooms and county offices, and the recently acquired building at Walnut and First streets.

The site visits followed a brief Committee of the Whole meeting in Commission Chambers that resulted in accepting a $85,000 grant to fund summer recreation programs, issuing an alcohol license for a convenience store on Spencer Circle and approving a professional agreement and contracts for the county to be eligible for FEMA reimbursement for storm debris management and removal. The agenda items must receive final approval at the next regular commission session on May 16.

Here are highlights from the agenda and field trip captured in tweets sent from the locations.
