Interactive map shows where pedestrians fatalities occur in Macon

Bibb County has one of the highest rates of pedestrian deaths in Georgia.

A record 17 people were killed on foot here in 2021. Three of the fatalities were hits-and-run.

So far in 2022, there had been nine pedestrian fatalities as of Sept. 9. Six of them were being investigated as hits-and-run.

This interactive map showing each fatality that occurred from January 2020 – Sept. 9, 2022 was created by The Macon Newsroom using information in crash reports obtained from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. It is updated monthly.
