Thoughts we have while watching ‘The Bachelor’

“The Bachelor”, everyone’s favorite reality dating show, is now in its 23rd season. Should ABC have made this many seasons? Probably not. Will they continue making more seasons? Probably.

Whether you hate that you love it, or love to hate on it, many people have the same reactions while watching the drama unfold. Here are some relatable thoughts about sitting down and watching “The Bachelor” on Monday nights.

Mondays are generally the least exciting day of the week. The weekend is over and the last thing you want to do is go to work or school. But then you remember “The Bachelor” is on and it makes Mondays suck a little less.

Now that you are settled into your couch with snacks and a beverage of your choice, the drama can begin. The show starts out with a dramatic reel of scenes they say will be in this episode, but probably won’t. We see you ABC.

Then, the camera cuts to the bachelor contemplating his romantic decisions without a shirt on, which is super awkward and unnatural. Honestly we’re not complaining though.

Next thing we know, Chris Harrison walks into the mansion and announces a group date! You’re on the edge of your seat because the claws are about to come out.

The group dates usually involve having some athletic ability. Where do all these crazy fit women come from? Do they recruit contestants from an Orangetheory Fitness?

During the group date, the two girls who are at each other’s throats this season glare at each other all day, before one decides to tell the bachelor that they aren’t there for the “right reasons.” Guess what. Neither of them usually stay much longer. It’s like they’ve never seen this show.

Next up is a one-on-one date doing something really romantic like riding horses on the beach or taking a boat ride. This is the part of the episode where you feel all mushy and believe that true love can result from this show.

After two hours filled with drama, it’s time for the rose ceremony! The women you think are going to go home usually don’t. Then, there’s always those who you swear you’ve never seen on the show.

At the end of the episode you probably feel unfulfilled and maybe a little stressed. However, you know you’re going to watch it next week anyway.
