Full Moon Float

The stakes are higher than ever in this dynamic stage musical, as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage. Kids Become Potters
Roughly a thousand years ago, a group of newcomers called the Mississippians arrived in central Georgia and constructed a large ceremonial complex and town along the Ocmulgee River on the edge of what is today, Macon. Archeologist have unearthed countless artifacts, tools and decorative items. Grab your kids (or someone else’s) and head to Ocmulgee Mounds National Historic Park to learn how to make pottery using the Native American coil method. Children will get to create their own clay pot that they can take home.

Adult Clay Camp
Why should kids have all the fun? C’mon down for a week-long grown-up summer camp, themed for the holidays. From Valentine’s votives to Halloween monster figures, you’ll get to make a fun clay project and even try out using the pottery wheel (cue the most famous pottery scene in movie history).

Summer Solstice Social
What beats celebrating the Midsummer Sun and helping out local kids in need? The event kicks off with energy clearing and intention setting. Bring a plant or some seeds to swap, or simply come in solidarity and take a plant home with you. Selfie station, flower crowns, terracotta pot painting …. take your pick! But don’t forget to bring school supplies or a monetary donation for Bibb County Schools. Sugar Magnolia of Macon is hosting the event in their private courtyard downtown, so dress comfortably!

A Hidden Gem
Did you know that Wesleyan College, the world’s oldest women’s college, has an arboretum with miles of trails? There are more 100 species of trees, shrubs, and woody vines that provide ample habitat for salamanders, snakes, lizards, mammals, more than 150 species of resident and migratory birds and 80 species of butterflies. It’s an outdoor learning laboratory that’s sure to delight visitors of all ages!

Do you have questions about dyslexia? Join Mercer University for a thoughtful and informative conversation about dyslexia and how to best serve students with this common learning difference. Family members and educators are welcome to join this supportive environmental for caregivers to ask questions and get answers. The guest speaker is Joy Wood, head of school at the Roberts Academy at Mercer University.
