Name, image and likeness (NIL) deals have made their way to high school sports as the Georgia High School Association approved a measure that would allow such deals between student-athletes and companies. Bibb County School District’s Athletic Director, Kevin Grooms, voiced his support of the new ruling because, he said, it opens up opportunities for student-athletes that did not exist before. At this time, there have been no NIL deals made with Bibb County student-athletes, but the infrastructure and regulations necessary for those deals has already been laid out with Grooms and Athletic Directors from Bibb County schools.
