Downtown Macon surveillance camera system spurs more debate

The Macon-Bibb County Commission voted to install a network of cameras at the request of Sheriff David Davis

The Macon-Bibb County Commission gave final approval to the Verkada multi-sensor, dome surveillance camera system during Tuesday’s evening meeting after reopening the debate on the proposal. Commissioners also discussed the proposed rate increase for the Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority and the local operation of Habitat for Humanity, which is getting money to build two new houses in Lynmore Estates.
