Middle Georgia has no shortage of events to celebrate Earth Day 2018. Here are some options from giving back to the community to getting your garden party on in Macon.

1.Open Streets Macon

Enjoy the fresh air and give the gasoline a break this Earth Day at the Open Street Macon event at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Cherry Street. Dress in your earthiest ensamble and don’t forget to decorate your bike as well. The bike and walk event begins at 2:00 p.m. Sunday.

2. Clean-Up at Ocmulgee National Monument

Do your part to help care for Mother Nature at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. While you are cleaning up you will also be enjoying the sights and sunlight of the beautiful Ocmulgee National Monument.

3. Mulberry Market

Take a look at some Macon products and vendors at the weekly market in Tattnall Square Park. You can shop and eat local at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday before a calming stroll in the park.

4. Inaugural Garden Party

This soirée starts at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in Pinnacle Park. For a snazzier Earth Day, purchase tickets to this event for $25 each at eventbrite.com.

5. 62nd Annual Pet Show

If your favorite part of nature is Earth’s furry creatures, this is an alternative to bike rides and hikes. This event is put on by the Macon Arts & Sciences Museum and will take place on the front lawn of the Coliseum Northside Hospital at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. It costs $2 to enter your pet into the show.
