The 567 Center for Renewal put up three white walls for graffiti artists to use throughout downtown Macon. The walls are located along Cherry Street, Second Street, and Cotton Avenue.
They are open to the public and were made to help prevent vandalism and graffiti on buildings downtown. “When we were tagged with unwanted graffiti a couple of years ago, along with most of Cotton Avenue, we decided the need for the graffiti walls was long overdue” Melissa Macker, Executive Director of the 567 Center for Renewal, said.
Next time you are in downtown Macon, take a walk through an alley near Piedmont Brewery, the 567 Center, and Tokyo Alley, and look for some of this amazing art.
