Hay House Toast and Taste Event

If you enjoy good food, wine, or spirits, mark September 26 down on your calendar. The Hay House will be hosting an event called Toast and Taste; a social gathering that will allow guests to taste the, “products of Georgia wineries, breweries, and producers of spirits such as vodka, rum, bourbon, and rye” according to Hay House staff.

The Hay House has been a National Historic Landmark since 1974, and “was built in the Italian Renaissance Revival style, a marked contrast to the Greek Revival architecture of the antebellum period” according to the Hay House website. The house turned museum is constantly under restoration while also being open to the public for tours.

In addition to the fine cuisine, the event will also be hosting a silent auction at the same time. The auction will feature, “gourmet dinners, getaways, and other items” according to the event’s Facebook page. The proceeds from the auction help keep the museum in top shape for all the visitors to enjoy.

This year, the toasting and tasting will no longer be separate activities. The various tastings from Macon restaurants will be paired with wines and other alcoholic beverages from various producers located here in Georgia.

This year, “Mercer University Law Students are offered a 50% discount ($20.00 each) with student I.D.” said Hay House Director of Collections and Programs William Aultman.

The event will take place from 6 – 9 p.m. in the Hay House grand rooms. Tickets for the event are 40 dollars, and can be purchased on their website or by calling 478-742-8155.
