Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park: Trail Snapshot
Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park is home to a rich history and culture here in Macon. But what people might not realize is the expansiveness of the park. The park has about six miles of trails that are all well kept and gorgeous natural scenery right here in the heart of Macon.
The six miles are made up of 11 different trails that traverse the monument’s 700 acres of land. Whether you are an avid hiker or just looking to get in the day’s steps, Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park provides a close and engaging trip.
While you are walking, you might even learn some history. The park service has placed plaques all across the park with facts and stories about the Native Americans who once lived on the land.
