Once every quarter, volunteers arrive at Centenary Church for Re-Cycle Macon’s bike repair initiative. Re-Cycle Macon is a program of Centenary Community Ministries that brings together Macon community members in partnership with Bike Walk Macon to repair bicycles and then give them to local individuals in need of reliable transportation. When they receive their bikes, recipients also attend a bike safety class and are given other resources to help them freely and safely. As one bike recipient puts it, “If you can get to something, you can do it. It’s living life without boundaries, living life without limitations.” The Re-Cycle Macon program provides life-changing transportation, allowing individuals in need to freely navigate the city.
