Kaitlyn Kressin, a local Macon business owner, sees breweries as more than just a place to grab a drink. She believes “they’re social hubs.”
Kressin co-owns Just Tap’d and Fall Line Brewing Co. and said she believes that Fall Line Brewing Co. is successful because of their team’s “focus on quality, experience, and community—people aren’t just coming in for a beer; they’re coming in for the atmosphere, the events, the conversations, and the connections.”
“They’re places where memories are made,” she says of brewpubs. “Whether it’s a casual night out, a first date, a family gathering, or a major celebration, my goal is to make sure people feel welcome and at home.”
According to NewTown Macon, downtown Macon has over 1,200 events a year, more than 50 restaurants, and has seen more than $136 million in investments since 2015, and with this, it has only been growing over the years.
Kressin wants to help with this, because she believes in investing where you live, as “Macon has proven time and time again that it’s worth investing in.” Kressin first invested in downtown Macon in 2016 when she and her husband started Ocmulgee Brewpub. They sold this in August 2023.

Kressin said her goal was more than just making good beer, but “it was about building something that added to Macon’s culture and gave people a place to rally around.”
“I wanted to contribute to downtown’s growth and help make it a place where people want to spend time,” she says.
Running a brewery isn’t all fun and games though. According to Kressin, running a brewery is also about understanding regulations, branding the products, having a good customer experience, and figuring out distribution, and as she says, “it’s a lot.”
She finished by saying that “when you love what you do and see the impact it has on your community, it’s all worth it.”
