A trivia marathon (well, six weeks), anime, music and fun kid stuff headline this week of activities to catch.

Thursday, June 27

Hit the Courts and the Dance Floor! 

Working out doesn’t have to be a grind.  Rhythm & Rally Thursdays just got a major upgrade with a new DJ Night on the whole bottom floor! Drop by from 5:30-8pm and get that heartrate pumping to the combo of DJ tunes and pickleball action.  Members can reserve a court for free, while visitors can sign-up for mix and mingle or reserve their own court.  Enjoy a night of high-energy fun!

From Mellow Low to Bright High

The clarinet is one of the few instruments that can swing from a classical wind ensemble to a big band jazz group. It’s capable of a wide spectrum of sounds, which makes it fun to play and a very dynamic instrument on the stage.  The Central Georgia Clarinet Ensemble holds its first concert at Newton Chapel, featuring almost two dozen clarinet players playing the music of Grainger, Holst, Basler and more on a variety of clarinets

Saturday, June 29

They’ve Got Secrets

Evan and Merisha’s relationship had a fairytale beginning, but faces a horrific end as infidelity, lies, and betrayal tear them apart.  Maybe, just maybe, true love can bring them back together.  This NAACP award-winning stage play is written by Wallace Demarriá and directed by Amanda Niqole of Outside Studios.

Anime Movie Night

The enchanting film Liz and the Blue Bird is a beautifully animated tale that explores the deep, complex relationship between two high school musicians, Mizore and Nozomi, as they prepare for their final concert together.  With stunning visuals and a moving soundtrack, this movie is a must-see for anyone who cherishes stories of connection and personal growth.

Monday July 1

Calling all Braniacs!

Want a chance to win $600 and many other amazing prizes? Round up all the brainiacs in your group and head to The Brick Macon for a Six Week Battle of The Brains Tournament.  Teams can be more than eight people, with up to two alternates.  The team accruing the most points over the six-week period wins the grand prize!

Get Creative!

Picture your kids in the movies! 

Your kids looking for something different this summer?  They can learn how to be a stunt double in Week 4 of Catapult Movement’s summer acrobatic camp.  Ages 3-17, all levels (beginner to advanced) are welcome! Invite family and friends to the last day for a performance by all of the campers!
