About $40,000 in a store owner’s past-due taxes led the Macon-Bibb County Commission to deny the alcohol license for the Jumbo Mart at 4737 Houston Road, near the new roundabout going in at Ga. 247.

During its first meetings in March, the Commission also authorized more than $146,000 from the IT budget for malware and antivirus protection software.

With less than 10 items on Tuesday’s agendas, the meetings moved quickly with very little discussion or debate.

Here is a recap of the pre-commission and board of commissioners meetings captured in social media posts sent during the proceedings.
