In town this week there are a few jazz concerts, a chance to “forest bathe,” a glow-in-the-dark yoga class and more.
Thursday, Jan. 18
Silent Book Club at Sweet Eleanor’s
This would be a million-dollar idea by dessert and coffee shop Sweet Eleanor’s, if the event weren’t free. It’s a “book club” meeting, but instead of group discussion about one novel, everyone gets to read their own books in silence. There will be a 30 minute pre-reading mingle session for those who would like to meet fellow introverts, but after that, everyone is encouraged to find their own nook in the restaurant and indulge in silent reading. BYOB, bring your own book.
6:30-8 p.m.; Free; 530 Poplar St., 31201; (478) 955-3402; sweeteleanors.com
Friday, Jan. 19
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler at the Fox Theatre
It’s a rare day that something gets an event recommendation from these pages that’s outside of Macon (why leave Macon? It has everything!) but seeing comedic legends Tina Fey and Amy Poehler would make the excruciating trip up Interstate 75 to Atlanta worth the aggravation. The duo brings their “Restless Leg Tour” to the Fox Theatre. The show combines stand up, skits, improv and a Q&A session at the end, according to reviewers.
8 p.m. Friday, 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday; $83.50 and up tickets available at foxtheatreevenue.com; 660 Peachtree Street NE., Atlanta, 30308; (855) 285-8499; foxtheatre.org
Saturday, Jan. 20
Jazz Night with KMo at The Society Garden
Maconites may be familiar with local jazz legend KMO, from his work promoting jazz through the Jazz Association of Macon. KMO is known for his Rhythm and Blues music with a Motown vibe. In addition to his vocals, KMO plays the bass, upright bass and guitar. The show will be inside, so no worries about frostbite.

Sunday, Jan. 21
Glow Yoga at Fall Line Brewery
The yogis at Homegrown Yoga take their peaceful flow under the black lights at this free, beginner-friendly yoga session. Attendees are encouraged to wear their brightest neon clothing to the class. The black lights and neon clothing will provide a unique visual to the class.

The quartet consists of Detweiler (saxophone), Bill Peterson (piano), Fumi Tomita (bass), and Ben Adkins (drum set).
