Brooklyn the Musical at Theatre Macon

Using the “play within a play” technique, this musical centers on a small community of homeless musicians who put on a play at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge. The community creates a musical about a French singer named Brooklyn who comes to America to find her father and in doing so, finds stardom.

Tuckered Out Movie Hour at Reboot Retrocade and Bar

Macon comedian Tuckers Andrews and his special guest Dean Gossett, Jr. make fun of the 2010 cult horror film, “Birdemic: Shock and Terror” in what seems to be a kind of Mystery Science Theatre 3000-inspired event.

Big Band of Brothers: A Jazz Celebration of the Allman Brothers at The Grand Opera House

This musical event combines the songs of the Allman Brothers Band with Big Band arrangements in a surprisingly groovy way. Founding ABB member Jaimoe sits in with the band along with special guests Lamar Williams Jr and Drew Smithers.

Kids Painting Class with Deonna Hendrix at Society Garden

Local artist Deonna Hendrix leads an art class for children 5 and up at this two-hour event. Kids will learn how to paint a picture of a penguin in this step-by-step class. The ticket price includes all materials and a hot chocolate for the little Picassos.

Acrylic Painting for Beginners at the 567 Center for Renewal

Monday is the first meeting for this eight-week class that teaches the fundamentals of portrait painting using acrylics. Professional portrait painter Kevin “Scene” Lewis instructs the courses that are appropriate for beginner to intermediate skill levels.
