Described as home of the “best brews and burgers around” by MaconGa.org, Ocmulgee Brewpub has become one of the most popular locations Downtown. However, it may come as a surprise that the location is also popular for ghost hunters.

In a 2018 13WMAZ article, Ocmulgee Brewpub was highlighted as a haunted hotspot of Macon. In the article, Shannon Ray, the founder of the Middle Georgia Paranormal Investigators group, attempted to communicate with Vincent, the Brewpub’s “friendly ghost.”

Andrew Graves, the current manager of the establishment, confirmed the story of the ghost.

“Vincent is a friend of ours that I have obviously not seen, but I have encountered his presence a few times,” he said.

Graves said that things will suddenly fall or turn off and on without reasonable explanations. He didn’t claim that Vincent was scary or friendly. In fact, Graves compared Vincent to a stray dog.

“He’s the ghost version of that stray dog that you kind of try and lure over to feed every now and then,” he said, “And you try and get a little bit closer to him, but he doesn’t really want anything to do with you.”

Another 13WMAZ article titled “Macon Macabre Tours Shares Ghost Stories and Murder Mysteries Downtown” highlights a haunting history of all of Downtown Macon. According to the article paranormal investigator and co-creator of the tour Josh Purvis says “that downtown has no shortage of ghost stories.”

Graves said he has never experienced any other paranormal activities, nor has he heard of any lore explaining Vincent and his ties to the Ocmulgee Brewpub space.
