Tiny Tour: Rose Hill Cemetery
Rose Hill Cemetery is a historic cemetery located on Riverside Drive beside the Ocmulgee River in Macon. It is part of a self-guided walking tour of Macon and is where the Rose Hill Ramble is held semi-annually. The cemetery was a regular hangout spot and source of inspiration for the Allman Brothers Band. Band members Duane Allman, Gregg Allman, Butch Trucks, and Berry Oakley are buried here. Other notable figures interned in Rose Hill include Buck Melton, a former mayor of Macon, and Eugenia Tucker Fitzgerald, one of the founders of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
