Kyle On A Budget: Thrifting in Macon
September 26, 2017
For many men, buying clothing is not a fun task. There are few things as disappointing as finding a great pair of shoes or a nice shirt, and then feeling like the air has been punched out of you when you look at the price tag.
If this is an experience you’ve had shopping in Macon, then you should know that there is an alternative: thrifting.
You can find great inexpensive clothing at places like Goodwill and JC Thrift. If you are a conspicuous consumer, you can form an entire outfit for under $25.
At JC Thrift, I found a button-down shirt and cargo shorts combo on the $2 rack, that made for a great casual weekday outfit.
That’s only $4 for an entire outfit.
Then, of course, there’s Goodwill. If you are worried you won’t be able to find decent fitting articles of clothing while thrifting, then I want to tell you there’s no need.
Goodwill has a vast selection of shirts, shorts, pants, jeans, suits, shoes, etc. You are bound to find something that fits your fancy at the local Goodwill. An entire rack is dedicated to jeans under $6.
I found several blazers under $10 there. If you are into the blazer-jeans combo that has become popular in the last decade, then you are set, without even having to spend $20.
Thrifting for clothing can be easy and fun. I would recommend that you check out JC Thrift if you’re only looking for a couple pieces of inexpensive clothing; although, the selection of clothing you will find there does seem to cater more toward women.
If you have an outfit in mind for a casual or semi-formal event, it would suit you to visit the Goodwill. You can find a wide variety of items for your specific needs.
