The Museum of Arts and Sciences hosted its final drive-through mini zoo Thursday, but it’s not the last animal-related event scheduled for the zoo this June.

According to the museum’s Director of Communication Sherry Singleton, there will be a twice-weekly walkthrough mini zoo starting on June 17. The mini zoo will be held in the new Peyton Anderson Orchard where visitors will be able to have “meet and greets” with animals and their handlers.

The museum has been closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic since April 8. However, they have still been able to host some outdoor events while maintaining social distancing requirements. The drive-through mini zoo, for example, was held in the parking lot of the museum

“We’re working on easing people into feeling comfortable coming back,” Singleton said at Thursday’s event.

Tickets for the walkthrough mini zoo will be $5 per person or free to Museum of Arts and Sciences members..
