Bears’ Beat Report: Mercer Entertainment Review

Bears+Beat+Report%3A+Mercer+Entertainment+Review

Connor Cable: Hello everyone. Welcome back to the Mercer Entertainment Review. I’m here with the new guest Brittany Harvey and this week we are talking about Quentin Tarantino. If you don’t know he is he is a very famous director that has been directing for quite some time, at least 20 years or so if not longer. Yeah and the reason why we’re talking about him is because he just dropped a trailer for his newest movie, his ninth movie, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”. What do you know about it Britney?

Brittany Harvey: Well I know it’s based off of I think it’s like the murder cases in the 19… Late 1960s. And I know Brad Pitt’s in it. Leonardo DiCaprio, Al Pacino, Margot Robbie is also in it. Oh yes. She is in it too, yeah.

Connor Cable: It’s looking like it’s gonna be a really good movie. And so what’s interesting about it is Quentin Tarantino, he’s kind of one of those directors that doesn’t just pump out movies. He’s very selective about it and he takes a lot of time between his movies to really make sure the script is perfect, to make sure that actors are perfect. So what do you what are you really excited about in this movie?

Connor Cable: Well I’m really excited because Leonardo DiCaprio is in it, also Brad Pitt because I’m a fan of both of them not only because they’re really good looking but they’re also really good actors. I’m really excited to see like how they’re going to tackle this story because I knew Brad Pitt’s character isn’t actually, he wasn’t an actual character, He’s fictional. So I’m curious like how they’re going to do portray the murders stories. I think Margaret Robbie’s character is a person who actually died in late 60s. I’m just curious what he’s going to do it is gonna be like Inglorious Bastards, Django Unchained, kind of like historically accurate but then they turn it into something else so I’m just curious what he’s going to do.

Connor Cable: Yeah. And so you bring those up. Those were two of his older movies Django Unchained and Inglorious Bastards they were, well you said they’re like historical fictions but historical truths as well. So that’s definitely one of the roots he goes he’s also done Hateful Eight which is kind of in the same vein, and then you can’t forget Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs. So he’s very meticulous about the movies he does. What I’m really excited about is like we were talking about the story, because he absolutely is just really methodical in his approach and you just you really can’t go wrong with a Quentin Tarantino movie.

Brittany Harvey: No you can’t. And like even in a trailer it’s really cool how he like framed a log like the opening shot of the trailer. It’s black and white. And it has like a little square thing so it’s like the 1960s kind of approach to it and it’s kind of like, quirky from the things that I see in the trailer, but I do think… I don’t know. I’m like He’s not giving much away. I’m surprised it took him two months before it’s released to actually show a trailer. It’s not like Avengers and they released like six months or a year out. So I think I don’t know he’s really keeping us on edge.

Connor Cable: No that’s a good point and I really like that you say about the trailer. I like that vibe that it’s given off, that aesthetic. Like you don’t really see too many like old Hollywood movies anymore like the Coen brothers did Hail Caesar, Which is which was kind of like an old Hollywood movie a little bit and then la la land wasn’t an old Hollywood movie but it took place and it was the same influences. So you really don’t get to see that to often. So that’s what I’m really excited about. So this will be an interesting movie to go and see once upon a time in Hollywood about two months time right. Yeah July something. July something. So we’ll be sure to be there. Thank you Britney so much for joining me and this week’s episode of the Mercer entertainment review. I’m Conor Cable for the Bears beat. Have a great day everyone!
