Rudy Mendes, a local artist, teaches the Urban Contemporary Ballroom Dancing class at the Mill Hill Community Arts Center in Macon.

The class has been going on since Jan. 28 and meets every Monday evening from 7 p.m to 9 p.m.

The final class is on March 4.

“We’re probably gonna extend it a few more classes because some of our students could not make a couple of times and after this series, do a more like an intermediate [level] class,” Mendes said.

Elizabeth Kringer is a student who has attended every class except one.

“I didn’t know anything about ballroom dancing prior to this. Learning the fundamentals has been good,” Kringer said.
