Michelle Malone at Grant’s Lounge

Americana favorite Michelle Malone brings her mix of Southern Rock and folk to Grant’s Lounge on Thursday. Malone’s new album, “1977” is an homage to the Laurel Canyon music of her childhood: The music and the year that solidified who she was. American Songwriter gives her new album four out of five stars and calls her work, “unapologetic.”

Reception for “Ancestors Speak: A Meditation on Humanity” at The Tubman Museum

Macon artist Stacy M. Jackson created both written work and ink art for this exhibit that reflects on the lingering psychological, spiritual, and societal damage of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and the healing power of art and art-making for individuals. Jackson will be available to answer questions about her work at the reception.  The exhibit runs until Jan. 7, 2023. The reception

Pumpkin Spice Yoga at Fall Line Brewery

The teachers from Hometown Yoga bring their flow to this autumn-inspired yoga session. There will be pumpkins available for the students to try to balance and seasonal “beer mosas” on offer after class to soothe any overworked muscles. The class is family and beginner friendly.

Macon Film Guild Presents: “The Good Boss” at the Douglass Theatre

This 2021 Spanish-language black comedy stars Javier Bardem as the owner of a factory that is up for a business excellence award and how Bardem’s character pulls out all the stops to secure the prize. The film won Best Picture at the Goyas (Spain’s version of the Oscars) and received a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Monday, Nov.14

Rose Hill Cemetery

Open in 1840, Rose Hill Cemetery is a history lover’s dream. It was originally built to function as a cemetery and local park. Today, visitors enjoy its winding paths, gothic setting and elaborately designed gravestones. Make sure to check out the Oak Ridge section, which is the resting place for an unknown amount of enslaved people, and the graves of legendary musicians, Duane and Greg Allmann. Other than the yearly Rose Hill Ramble held by Historic Macon, the cemetery is self-guided.

Tattnall Tuesdays Group Walk at Tattnall Square Park

Presented by Bike Walk Macon, this one hour, medium-paced group walk meets at the Park parking lot on Oglethorpe Street. This three mile walk loops through Tattnall Square Park, Mercer Village, the Mercer University campus and back again. Attendees should be able to walk three miles comfortably and bring a bottle of water with them. In case of rain, Bike Walk Macon will post a walk cancellation notice on their Facebook page.

Laura Park Pop-Up Shop at Carol’s Linens

Artist turned fabric designer turned lifestyle accessories designer, Laura Park has quite a fan base in Macon. Park is known for her watercolor-inspired designs that are both unexpected yet classic. Representatives from Laura Park will be in attendance to showcase their latest fabrics, wrapping paper and more. Carol’s Linens will also be offering 20% off Laura Park merchandise, give aways throughout the day and cookies from local bakery Victory Bagels.
