Toast and Taste at the Hay House

The Hay House will offer tastings from the region’s best wineries and breweries such as Ocmulgee Brew Pub to pair with samples from favorite local restaurants such as Circa, Dovetail, and Monkey Paw at this event. In addition, there will be silent auctions for items such as a Big Green Egg grill, art from local artist Joe Addams, a two-night stay at Hotel 45, and a rock climbing session at Macon Rocks.

TobyMac Theatre Tour at the Macon Auditorium

Christian music star TobyMac, formerly of Christian supergroup “DC Talk,” brings his Theatre Tour to the Macon Auditorium. Upcoming singer-songwriter Terrian will open the show for Mac and his DiverseCity band.

GABBAFest 2022 Kick-off at Gallery West

The Georgia Allman Brothers Band Association (GABBA) is celebrating its 30th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the Allman Brothers Band’s foundational album, “Eat A Peach.” To celebrate, they have put together a week full of jams and shows. The celebrations kick off at Gallery West with appetizers and drinks and a performance by guitarist Sonny Moorman.

Purple Madness at Society Garden

Sisters of the Blue Moon at Yollah

The bluegrass-inspired trio will play in the garden of Yollah restaurant. Band member Charlie Thomas (previously of the local band Blue Sky Blue) describes their music as, “Blue Sky Blue meets the Wailin’ Jennies.”

Macon Pride Mini Film Festival at the Douglass Theatre

As a part of Macon Pride Week 2022, the Douglass Theatre is hosting a mini film festival. The evening will feature the films, “Nelly & Nadine” about two women who fall in love in the Ravensbrück concentration camp in 1944, and “Mama Bears” about the strong women who advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.

Wednesday, Sept. 28

Evren Ozel plays at Wesleyan

Internationally award-winning classical pianist Evren Ozel plays the Burden Parlor at Wesleyan College on Wednesday. Ozel most recently represented the United States in Warsaw, Poland at the International Chopin Competition where he finished as a quarter-finalist. Ozel has performed with orchestras such as the Cleveland Orchestra, Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, RTE National Symphony, and Boston Pops.

Broadway Does Pride at The Grand Opera House

The Grand Opera House will host a night of cabaret-style performances of music that has often been the soundtrack of the LGBTQ+ experience. Music from Broadway shows such as “Rent” and dance floor hits such as Diana Ross’ “I’m Coming Out” will be performed by local Macon talent with what organizers call, “a fresh and campy twist.”
