Macon Bike Party

The Macon Bike Party hits North Macon on Thursday with a ride around The Triangle on Old Forsyth Road. This is a free, slow paced, all ages bike ride guided by Bike/Walk Macon. Attendees should bring their own bike and helmets to join in.

Intro to Digital Photography

For people who have a DSLR camera and want to get the most out of it, the 567 Center for Renewal is presenting an introduction to digital photography lecture followed by hands-on instruction. Topics will include the art and science of a good photograph, light and exposure and learning about your camera and its lens. The session is open to ages 13 and above.

Read with a Ranger

Join a ranger for a park-themed story time at the Ocmulgee Mounds National Historic Park. All ages are welcome but the suggested audience is Pre K- fourth grade. The story time is held outside so make sure to bring a blanket to sit on, sunscreen and water

Let’s Dance

Macon’s chapter of USA dance is hosting a night of dancing at the Howard Community Center. Dance everything from the waltz to the bachata with a night of lively music and a great dance floor. There will also be a raffle at the event.

Middle Georgia Comic Convention 

Fanboy Collections and Comics is hosting this year’s Middle Georgia Comic Convention at the Holiday Inn Macon North (3953 River Place Drive, 31201) There will be 12 comic and toy vendors with authors and artists from around Georgia.

Beauty’s & Breakdowns Drag and Metal Show

Who knew that drag and heavy metal went so well together? Apparently downtown music venue JBA did. The night kicks off with a drag show and is followed by heavy metal performers WACK, Mishapen and Evil Intent. Attendees are encouraged to cross-dress.

Women Hold Up Half The Sky

This live show held at the Douglass Theatre will be laced with readings from the works of writers like Nikki Giovanni, Gwendolyn Brooks, June Jordon, and Ntozake Shange. There will also be music, with live drums, a collection of contemporary jazz, negro spirituals and contemporary soul.

Macon Film Guild Presents: Hit the Road

This Iranian film from 2021 won multiple international awards when it debuted. The film follows a chaotic family on a road trip while they fuss over their sick dog and bond over shared memories. Screening is held at the Douglass Theater.

Storytellers Presents: Contemplating with Nature

Held in the upstairs area of Grant’s Lounge, featured storytellers Vinson Muhammed and Kimberly Kesley Epps will tell stories about their special places in nature where they feel freest. Attendees are encouraged to sign up and tell their stories as well.
