Pawn Shop owner Howard Reed urges Macon-Bibb Commissioners to vote against 90-day moratorium on licensing new shops.

Macon-Bibb County Commissioners balked at extending a 90-day moratorium on licensing new pawn shops after owners made impassioned pleas to reconsider.

During Tuesday night’s meeting, Commissioner Al Tillman also pushed for a Health Emergency declaration to allow government entities to meet online and comply with open meetings regulations. Mayor Lester Miller will not authorize Zoom meetings for the commission, but the resolution allows other committee chairpersons to decide for each entity.
