“When you raise the tide, the whole community is uplifted”

As the Macon Middle Georgia Black Pages, celebrate their 30th year, publisher Alex C. Habersham celebrates their purpose and history.

“African Americans in central Georgia spend $3.5 billion a year,” Habersham shares, “So one of the purposes of the publication is to see if more of that money, that revenue, those dollars can be directed into the African American community, which in turn, will benefit the entire community because as these businesses do better, they are able to become more involved in different facets of the community socially, economically, educationally, civically, and otherwise.”
